Men's Floodlight Playoffs R16 Summary

Mount Pleasant 4 (Class 4)'s campaign came to an end this evening on a still evening at Mount Pleasant. In the absence of captain Etienne Paillard and Alan Connolly, league veterans Noel Quirke and Conor McDonald subbed in to partner Tom Fox and Ross Reynolds.

Tom was first off court in the singles with a terrific 6-3, 6-0 win over a decent opponent, proving court 2 is indeed his lucky court.

Fighting against the Sandycove captain on court 1 was Noel Quirke, finally succumbing to a 2-6, 6-7 defeat in a tight decider.

That left just the doubles of Ross Reynolds/Conor McDonald on court but after a tense and hard-fought third set they were beaten 2-6, 5-7.

Well done to the team for making the playoffs and best of luck to teams 2 and 3 next Wednesday. Team 2 have a chance to gain revenge for Mount Pleasant against Sandycove!
