Men's Floodlight League Week 2 Results

A generally positive week for the Men's Floodlight League teams in Week 2 with two teams in excellent shape:

- Team 1 (Class 2) unfortunately came up short away against Templeogue 2 last night, being overcome 0-3. The season really starts next week as the team looks to rebound from some tough opening fixtures to get some points on the board. Special mention and thanks to Ed Deegan for agreeing to sub in for Class 2 late in the day.

- An excellent result for Team 2 (Class 4) who swept aside Charleville 3 3-0 at home. Singles wins for John Finnegan and Simone De Colle were matched by a doubles win for Marco Buzzi and Conor Burke, all in straight sets. A crunch game next week away to Ratoath 1 who have won both their first two matches, best of luck to the team.

- Team 3 (Class 4) have maintained their 100% record for the season as they ensured no rubbers were lost at home by the men last night in a resounding 3-0 win over Stratford 1. Well done to the team of Carlos McCambrdige (c), John Darby, Colm O'Byrne and Jari Zikavsky. Similar to team 2, team 3 have an important fixture next week against Templeogue 4 who have won both their matches to date. Let's hope for more of the same!

- Team 4 (Class 4) again battled but suffered a 1-2 defeat away to Meadowvale 1. Captain Etienne Paillard won for the second week in a row to get the team a point, however the rest of the team were unable to match his display and gain that vital second point. A big performance required next week at home to Greystones 2. Thanks to Romain Le Breton for subbing in for the team.

- Team 5 (Class 5) had another arduous away game, the fixtures not being kind, against Aer Lingus 2. A strong singles win for Cathal O'Rourke got a point on the board for the team, however the team were unfortunate to see a couple of tough three-setters go against them in a 1-2 defeat. Next week finally sees a home match against Swords 2 who are still without a point so far.
