Congratulations to our ladies first team-Floodlit League Champions

A hearty congratulations is in order for Mount Pleasant Ladies first team who were crowned class One Floodlit League champions for the second year running on a wet and windy tuesday night in Lansdowne LTC. They overcame all the might that Monkstown LTC could throw at them and despite 2 interuptions for floodlight failure of 15 minutes each the team were crowned worthy champions by 10 pm last night.

First off court were Gemma O'Donoghue and super sub Christine Grier who suffered a tough loss against the mighty strong Lisa O'Shea and Caroline Grace. Next came our ladies champion Grainne O'Donoghue who had a comfortable win over Jennifer Crotty. With the exception of one match Grainne has managed to win all her games in under an hour. So for the second time in a week it all came down to Michelle Hardiman! At 6-4 2-6 4-3 up against the teenager Amy Ryan alas the floodlights failed again. After some off court coaching from her team mates to run for every ball as if her life depended on it, Michelle managed to win another 8 points to give MP the win!
